October 25th was a great day for Symbian users everywhere. Imre Kelenyi finally released an updated version of his Symella P2P software for Symbian S60v3 devices. Symella is a P2P program that connects to the Gnutella network (Symbian + Gnutella = Symella) to allow for downloading. SymTorrent is a BitTorrent client that allows you to download Torrent files directly to your Symbian device. Both are freeware, links will be added to the Freeware Page shortly.

**EDIT** – To find Torrents to download through SymTorrent, currently you need to search independently for the torrent file, and then open it through SymTorrent. My solution to this is I have TorrentSpy bookmarked in the “Web” browser (Full HTML). I search TorrentSpy via my phone, find the torrent, and save the torrent file on your phone somewhere (I have a “BitTorrent” folder on my memory card). Then open SymTorrent and open the torrent file through there. That’s a slightly tedious method, but the best that I’ve found for Torrenting on the go. Hopefully a future release will incorporate some sort of search. (Thanks for the feedback, Anonymous!)
