Is S60 User-Friendly?

Peter over at S60blogs.com/SeeIntoS60 has a very interesting post questioning the simplicity of the S60 User Interface. He ponders whether additional shortcuts would save time and make things easier, or if it’s perfect just the way it is. Some of the things he suggests, in my opinion, aren’t really needed in order to help new s60 users get accustomed.
Personally, the User Interface is what sets S60 devices apart from the regular lineup of Smartphones. I’ll confess I’ve yet to use a Palm device, but the two experiences I’ve had with Windows Mobile (the SMT-5600 and the 8125) were painful, to say the least. People says Windows Mobile devices are easy to use because everyone is used to Windows, but I think that’s the exact reason that Windows Mobile is a horrible mobile platform. It is basically Windows XP, only shrunk. It still has the same problems of way to much folder heirarchy, limited customization options, and confusing menus.
Anyways, there’s a pretty lively discussion over at Peter’s blog, click on over there to get in on the debate.
