Sync Categories in Outlook with Caller Groups on S60?
Aadamian on Howardforums posted an interesting question today. "
I have 1000+ contact in Outlook and need to map the categories to caller groups on E61." I’m a heavy user of Caller Groups on my S60 phones, and have more than once had to hard reset and waited months before creating all those blasted Caller Groups again. I think it’s interesting that you can sync your device with Outlook, and everything else syncs, minus Categories (even the thumbnails now sync).
This is something that I think Nokia needs to improve upon greatly, the contacts management system of PC Suite. I remember in past versions of PC Suite you could do group edits of your contacts on your PC, however that functionality disappeared somewhere along the way. So here’s a developer challenge:
Write a program (or, preferably, Nokia, update PC Suite) to be able to sync Contact Categories in Outlook as Caller Groups on the phone. Who’s up to the challenge? (Yes, I’ve submitted the "wish" to the S60.com Wish List).

hi there. i have totally agree that that would be a great feature!
Greate idea. This is my first Nokia (6125) and that is one thing I miss from my MPX220…
Anyone working on that?
Someone had a solution 5 years ago:

Why didn’t Nokia implemented it already?
I totally agree. I also “upgraded” from MPX220 to N95 and really miss that feature. It would be nice to see more users requesting this feature, so Nokia will implement it.
While they are at it they should abandon the “group” paradigm and do “categories” like in Outlook. Then calendar entrys, tasks and notes could also be categorized.
It looks like there’s still no solution for this. *sigh* This is the reason why I liked my Windows Mobile phone. Unfortunately, I needed the better camera on my N82.
