FExplorer for S60v3 One Step Closer…

Screenshot0002_1
Dominique Hugo’s much-sought-after FExplorer is getting closer to being available for S60v3 devices, but is it too late? There’s a big discussion of the software over at HowardForums, including some recent screenshots from RS77, one of the Beta Testers.

He states that it’s a VERY early beta, and that some key features do not currently work fully, such as copying multiple files, viewing files in the inbox, restart, and screenshot. It also still cannot currently access the "private" folder, access to which is key to the software’s success on previous S60 versions.

However, the screenshots are really good and give a good indicator of what the software will hopefully soon look like.

Personally, I wonder, with apps like Y-Explorer, Sexplorer, Screenshot, and Tasky, is there still a market for FExplorer? Does it matter, since they’re all freeware? What do you think?

  • Yes, it'll do much the same as the other existing apps, but for those of us who learned FExplorer's shortcut keys, it'll be great to see it back!

  • i'm using this beta and is very similar to all others browser for now, but i think it'll be a step better for some features that are going to be improved, as the setting of operator logo and the inbox view (in ytools is implemented but often doesn't work properly)... just wait for the final version, if you enjoied fexplorer on 2nd and preferred it from others, i think it'll be the same ;)

And there is another reason for choosing fexplorer: the new icon! that's made by me! :P ;)

keep on the good work with the blog! ;)
