Darla Mack is showing off the gems that she found on the N76 she recently got to play with at CES. Given that this is one of the first S60v3 FP1 devices to be out and about (other than the N95, of course) there are plenty of little things to discover. I personally am anxiously awaiting whatever my first S60v3 FP1 device is just so that I can go exploring.
The first thing Darla found is the new options in the Themes menu. The second is parts of the new web browser. Click through to read more. A little disclaimer: I’m going to steal some of her screenshots because I think I noticed something that she didn’t mention, and hopefully she’ll read this and answer my questions.
In the themes menu, you now come to another sub-menu apparently. This one has two additional menu
options (other than grid and list) that are Horseshoe and V-shape. These views are similar to the Gallery view, where you have one item that’s the focal point, and the rest rotate in the background. The layouts match their names, and the coolest part is that when you highlight a folder, it will show the contents in a line on either the side or the bottom of the screen. I’m a huge fan, personally, as I tend to make my own folders and then forget what exactly I put in them. These new views would save me a click.
I also noticed in Darla’s screenshot that there is an additional sub-menu, called "Cover Personalisation." I’m wondering what all you can personalise your cover to do? Darla, hopefully you can answer this question, if you still have your N76?
Also noted by Darla is screenshots of the new web browser in action. Most of it is the same as the current S60v3 Web browser, with the notable exception of the new floating Toolbar. I won’t steal all of Darla’s screenshots, so be sure to head on over to her blog to get some visuals of this new toolbar. I’m a big fan, it seems as though it will minimize alot of the clicks and clutter found in even the current web browser.
