Nokia N96 Already?
Well, the N95 hasn’t really even officially dropped yet and there’s already rumors of its successor. Stefan over at Ring Nokia mentioned it briefly, and I tried to read some more out of the page he linked to. However, a quick Google for Nokia N96 came up with an article on MobileWhack.com from Jan 2nd, with some supposed specs for the N96, and they match up pretty well with what I could decipher from the Hungarian page.
Thus far it seems as though the Nokia N96 (if it’s even real) will have some pretty killer specs:
Connectivity: 802.11bg/UPnP/HSDPA/EGSM 850/EGSM 900/EGSM 1800/EGSM 1900(No clue as to what bands of HSDPA, though it’s not like they’ve been particularly good at being US friendly…)
Weight: 135g
Display: 352*416 pixels, 2.8 in. TFT 16 mil colors (I thought they were giving up on the 352*416 res?)
Memory: MicroSD (looks like Nokia’s finally sticking with a standard), 512MB built-in
Bluetooth: 2.0 + EDR + A2DP
Camera: 6MP Carl Zeiss w/ Autofocus, Video (VGA 30fps), Xenon flash (still), LED flash (video), 4x Optical Zoom, 20x Digital Zoom (Supposedly will also have a Secondary cam for Video Calls, 1MP w/ 4x Digital Zoom and VGA video)
GPS Built-in
3.5mm Audio Output Jack, 3D Stereo Speakers, TV Out, Digital Radio
These are pretty heavy specs, specially with not even the standard blurry cameraphone pic to follow up with, so we’ll see.
**Update** - upon further reading, the specs listed above are merely one commenter’s dreams, not any actual specs. Sorry for the miscommunication.
the future phones will have everything in one smal device..
also nokia will come with a touch wide-screen(up to 800×480res) phone like the iphone is and with wimax, nice 3D fine animated open GL menu, 10Mp cam 1-4Gb internal flash mem + 32Gb SD card and a smal slider keyboard like some win pda phone has.
sadly that nokia is a quite a memory saver. i n compare to my nearly 3 years old motorola e680i with a 4gb SD Card can the N95 use only max. 2Gb on micro SD memory!
I wasat the local computer store in Pattaya Thailand today and a friend showedme an N96 that a friend from abroad had just given him, see the pics attached. It looked out of this world and was so much thinner than the N95, only I cannot work out if it has the full mapping of the GPRS
I fould a printed sheet about 4Things You Probably Never Knew Your Mobile Phone could do. Unfortunately it missed out words at the end of lines so I coulnd’t see a code, could you please tell me where I could find it so I can print it off again.
