Yahoo! Go Updated to 2.0

Yahoogo
Yahoo! Go has been updated to Beta 2.0, with several new phones supported across all the major carriers (even Verizon, in fact). There’s a clear focus on Motorola’s RAZR line (including the Maxx and others) but it seems to work pretty much on anything. I got real excited because I’m looking for something web-based to synchronize all my contacts/calendar/todo lists/notes/etc, and I thought this might be the perfect app for my workphone E62.

That is, until I went to download it. The previous version of Yahoo! Go only worked on a select few N-series devices, but I was optimistic with this new update, seeing as how (for once) I have a device that’s offered by a major carrier. So I went to the list and noticed that the E62 isn’t on the Cingular list (though there is something funny about that Sprint picture…) so I went to the manufacturer listings, and got even MORE excited that the E50, E60, and even the QWERTY E70 was listed. However, there is no love for the E61 or E62.

Undaunted, I attempted to send the download link for the E70 client (since it obviously supports landscape screen and QWERTY) to my E62, but was rudely interrupted by a message that informed that there were no plans to offer this app for my device. Now, correct me if I’m wrong (I’m not), but the E6x series runs the SAME OS as the N73, E50, and E70. There is no difference at all. So why so uninformed?

I also decided I’d send Yahoo! a friendly reminder of that fact, but could not for the life of me find even a support page other than the FAQ, much less a contact us button. This drives me nuts. Don’t offer a product if you don’t want feedback on it, please.

  1. Yahoo are nokia E61 friendly, They are not planning to support yahoo GO on E61

  2. Thanks for commenting drqandil, but there’s no reason for them to support the other E-series and not the E6x

  3. On their supported phones page, it says its coming soon for E61/62, and the download link I got says it should be available in April.
