E90 - US 3G or Not?
I’ll confess, when I got a text message Saturday evening alerting me that the E90 was going to have US 3G, I nearly wet my pants. However, it appears as though that’s up for debate. In case you weren’t following it, Engadget Mobile posted on it first, citing some FCC docs that pointed towards UNIVERSAL US 3G (meaning both for Cingular AND T-mobile’s as-yet un-launched 3G network). However, Phoneboy, a Nokia employee, pointed out the false aspects of that document, so I believe that it rests that the E90 will NOT have US 3G, which is kinda what I was expecting since it was announced.
However, if Nokia wants to go all old-school on us and have an E90a and an E90b, well then, I am 100% for that. In any case, keep a close eye on this, and I will too. Let’s hope we in the States get lucky with an S60 3G phone someday soon.
