Nokia N73 and the Wizards’ Post Game
I love fan mail. I got an email from Eric of the Washington Wizards fan blog the other day showcasing his use of a Nokia N73 to record a Post-Game media session. Great video, fantastic looking blog, if you’re a Wizards fan, you need to check this out (Olly?).
I personally think the Nokia N73 is the visual underdog of the N-series. It’s got the same cam as the N93(i), just minus the optical zoom. But I think feature for feature, and size-wise, the N73 wins. Probably just personal preference, but I like that the N73 is good ol’ quad-band, an the lack of WiFi doesn’t bother me. It’s a more compact and sexy beast, if you ask me.
Anyways, what else are you guys using your N73’s for? Eric’s obviously got a great device he can do work with at a moment’s notice. I used mine to take videos of my dog playing in the pond. Chime in if you’ve got a slightly off-the-wall use for your N73 (or other N-Series device) and feel free to share a video link or two.

The big question is, will 30fps from the N95 be enough to lure me in? I know you’re a big N73 fan - what are your thoughts on the difference in capabilities while weighing in any possible drawbacks. Size comes to mind for me - one of the reasons I jumped off the Windows devices was the size of the 8125.
The main reason I love the N73 is the obvious multimedia capabilities, but the fact that it’s so easy to just throw in my pocket, shoot videos, stills AND check my emails…why do I want the N95 again?

I thought N93 has a different cam from N73? 30FPS versus 15FPS?
I believe it’s the same 3.2MP CZ Still cam, but different video capabilities.
The N73 is hands down my favorite Nokia. It has a fantastic form factor, feels great in your hand and is very easy to tap text on. Call quality is excellent as usual from Nokia Phones and the Quadband antenna gets a signal anywhere there is GSM. I use the camera daily for photos and videos and they are absolutely printable… not just some pic you happened to have taken on your phone.
My only gripe is no 3G for the US…
I mostly use my N73 as a still camera with the ability to post pictures on the go. The keypad is a little hard for me to use. The lack of WiFi is probably it’s biggest downside for me.
I use my N73 to shoot little skateboarding videos. It’s funny, the MP4’s skip when playing back on the phone and in Windows, but when I import the files into iMovie they look fine. I plan to buy an 95 when they’re out, because I want the better camera and WiFi.
The stills from my N73 look great, too.
