Phone Hunt: Blue Nokia N73

Blue
I need a new phone. I gave up my Black N73 when I got the N75, which I no longer have. I obtained an N93 temporarily, but unfortunately that device has proven that I do indeed have a requirement for GSM 850 in my devices. I’ve decided for a number of reasons to not pick up an N95 right now, mostly a financial decision. As much as I’d love one, unless it were to magically show up on my doorstep, it’s a no-go.

So I’ve decided to go back to my trusty N73. However, not any ordinary N73 will do. I want the blue one, pictured above. I’m not asking for free (though I would welcome it) I’m merely asking for AVAILABILITY. If ANYONE can get me a blue N73 (THIS blue, not some aftermarket housing), I’ll figure out some cool reward.

If anyone at Nokia can figure out how to get their hands on one, well, you already work there and get cool rewards all the time, so I’ll just buy you a beer or something. In any case, the hunt is on!

**Update**
I’ve managed to dig up some more information. Apparently this Blue N73 is a European release, and is white on the front. So anyone who doesn’t mind going into a Nokia store in Europe, or has contacts at Nokia Europe, any additional help is TREMENDOUSLY appreciated.

***Another Update*** A contact at CTIA right now called to let me know that the Softbank guys were both carrying N73s, one Sand and one my Beautiful Blue. A quick check of their website confirmed the Sand colored one, but no sign of the Blue. At least it seems as though it’s available in Japan. Anyone else got anything?

I believe the color is “plum” like the other N95 color.

Courtney, thanks for the response, but if you’ll follow the link in the post, you’ll see that it’s a different color from the Plum color. There are currently 5 color variations available on the market; Red, Plum, Mocha, Black, and Pink. In the picture, there’s 2 additional colors, Sand and Blue.

Softbank(Japan) doesn’t have N73 in blue. They only have 3 colors, plum, sand, and red :(

Igor – thanks for the comment and link, but again, as you can see in my response above, I’m not looking for the Plum version. I want the blue that is pictured above and in the link in the post.

    Hi,

Why are you against Nokia “aftermarket housing”, which is, afterall (if original) all they do themselves at the factory. And this way you’d get to rotate colours.

you can find the blue version in Israel also, i dont understand why do you so hot on this version, it’s not so pretty, and it’s not white at the front, it’s silvery.

I’m looking for the Strom Blue as well. No luck yet, and I broke down and purchased the Deep Plum in the meantime. I saw two on eBay not too long ago, both shipping from Australia, and both sold already… for $450(US). (I got my Deep Plum for $369, so I wasn’t willing to pay the almost extra $100.) Did you get any luck yet?

Yeah, same here. I gave up and moved on. Sad day, though, I think it would have been popular.
