Mobile Treasure Hunt!

Treasureisland
Shape Services, the wonderful people who bring us IM+, has an addicting new game out, and it’s java, which means it can be played on nearly any mobile device.

From reading the release at SymbianOne, Treasure Island is basically a marketing tool for carriers that can be customized to their liking. Prizes are "buried" on the island, and users basically walk around and dig for them. There is a chat interface, so you can interact with other Islanders, along with a map and other features.

To introduce this opportunity, they’re hosting their own promotion. The more you dig, the more likely you are to find a prize ranging from free software up to $10,000 USD!!! Like most other MMORPG, more activity earns you a higher "level" which increases your digging abilities.

You can point your PC Browser to www.mobiletreasure.com to get more info, or your mobile browser to wap.mobiletreasure.com (only on certain phones) to download the app to your phone. If you login, I’m rcadden, chat with me!

**NOTE** Treasure Island uses data to transmit information and setup registration, so it’s suggested that you have either a large data bucket or an unlimited plan.

**Update** After ~4hrs of play, my N73’s battery is kaput and I’ve run out of finding places to dig. I didn’t chat much, but I did run across a few other players here and there.

Prizes Won:
1. Weather+
2. Translator+
3. Travel+USA
4. Currency+
5. Phone Codes: Europe

Chests found: 1
Player Level: 21

  1. it would be so much cooler if i wasn’t simply walking around looking at a bunch of holes dug by other people. I have yet to find a place to dig.
