Nokia Accessories I Would Love To Buy But Can’t

Nokia doesn’t JUST make devices. They make accessories, as well. You probably don’t know that, though, if you live in the United States. You may have seen a bluetooth headset at Best Buy or something, but that’s about it. However, they also make a bevy of other useful accessories. The problem is that you can’t seem to find them, or can only find them if you look on obscure websites or don’t mind paying extra $$ to import them.

There’s not many that I want, really. Just a few for added productivity and extending the usefulness of my devices. The first is obviously the SU-8W Bluetooth Keyboard. Nokiausa.com lists it, but out of stock, just like nearly every other online retailer. Sure there’s a few, but I’m not going to pay more than $100 for it.

The next is the car windshield mount for the N800. I want this VERY badly. It’s not available, as far as I know, apart from the Navigation Kit. I already have an LD-1W, and MaemoMapper, so I don’t need the GPS receiver nor the GPS software. Just the windshield mount. It’s not even listed on Nokiausa.com. Why not? It would be useful apart from GPS, with apps like Carman and Canola it would be awesome to have my N800 right there in front of me.

How about the Tripod? It’s for sale, but only from (again, as far as I know) Expansys. What about Nokia’s own website?

These are all relatively cheap accessories that I would be willing to buy if I could. I’m hoping that Nokia’s recent hookup with Dell will include accessories alongside the handsets, so that we can properly enjoy our devices.

Ricky, it seemed like the Nokia Flagship store in NYC had a pretty good stock of accessories (or maybe it was just 900 different AC adapters — I wasn’t paying as much attention as I should have). Maybe if someone is going to NYC or Chicago soon, we can send a shopping list of accessories to see if they’re available. I’ll probably end up in NYC or Chicgo before too long.
