8 Random Things Meme
Olly (who used to be a guest author here on Symbian-Guru, but since starting up his own blog, Ollywomp.us, has given me the shaft. Jerk.) (Kidding, he freakin had a kid, his life has turned upside down!) has tagged me on another of these Blog Memes, and personally, I think they’re kinda fun, and this one interests me today, so here you go. 8 Random Things.
(I’m supposed to post the rules first I guess):
- We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
- Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
- People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
- At the end of your blog post, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
- Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
My 8 Random Facts:
1. I smoked cigarettes from 8th grade till I was a junior in High School, a pack and a half a day at my peak. I quit by chewing on toothpicks. To this day, you can *always* find me with a toothpick in my mouth. Seriously. I sleep, shower, drink, eat, play, type, talk on the phone, etc with a toothpick in my mouth. To date, I have only swallowed 2 on accident. I keep the same toothpick until A. I lose it or B. It gets too short. I typically chew on the end when I get really stressed out, so they shrink over time.
2. I have actually used 7 cellphones in the course of 1 day. 6620, 3300, V180, x327, Innostream A1, 3595, 3120, and P107. I had them laying around and everytime I went back to my apartment that day, I’d switch phones, just cause I could.
3. I keep all my phones and gadget-related items in The Treasure Chest. It’s an old Crown Royal tin that my aunt brought me cookies in once. I regularly say, "I think I’ve got one of those in the Treasure Chest."
4. I love Irish Drinking Songs. It’s really hard to have a bad day/be pissed off with Irish Drinking Songs cranked up. I also know the words to some of them, and am guaranteed to sing along.
5. I love accents. I love listening to people with accents talk. Any accent, really, it doesn’t matter. I’m obsessed.
6. I refuse to wear the color black except at funerals and my own wedding. I do not own any black clothing, period. It’s such a dark and drab color. If I need a dark suit, I have a blue one, and I wear brown shoes. Brown is so much warmer and friendlier.
7. I’m an obsessive optimist. My friends say that I wear rose-colored glasses. I very rarely am in a bad mood, if ever.
8. I make up weird health/food related things to justify myself. The latest include 1. Butter is good for you because it clogs your arteries and causes your heart to work harder, thereby giving your heart exercise. You don’t want that thing getting lazy! (same applies to alcohol/liver) and 2. Pizza is a complete meal. If you eat the Hawaiian style (canadian bacon and pinapple) then you have every single food group represented.

This is very interesting . . . I can confirm that many of your points apply to me also, I love accents. I often spend the whole day talking in an Irish accent, and that’s before the Guinness!
I have a man bag (for gadget travel accommodation), a gadget box (or two), and an old cable bag, it’s all good! (^_^)
I’ve been tagged!! Yikes!
Haha, I guess I have been neglecting my duties over here at S-G … that’ll change soon, I (sort of) promise!

Drinking songs are great … howled at 4am during a lock-in they sound even better
Though I am Irish and have an Irish accent, apparently it’s a slightly strange one. I’ve been called American twice and one of those was by a girl from Cork, no less!

L O effin L!
Someone else already tagged me, Ricky.

Irish drinking songs? Is there anything better?

I love accents too, probably ’cause I’m speaking with strong Danish accent myself and spend a lot of time speaking with different people with many different European accents
Interesting to read a little about the person behind symbianguru
Bahahaha I use the same excuse to have pizza! Can’t even convince myself that I’m right, but it’s enough to say it out loud.
Awesome meme, I loved reading that!
