N95 vs. iPhone - Ringtone
You’ve laughed, you’ve cried, and now you’ll either laugh your butt off or get really offended. Either way, here it is. Our final entry in the N95 vs. iPhone videos. I’ll confess, there is an inaccuracy to this video. When we recorded it, we didn’t know that the iPhone was unable to use custom ringtones. So please ignore that line in the video. Without further adieu…
So there you go. Many many thanks to all you who have watched daily, and to the blogs and various sites that have linked to our videos. Yes, they’re horrible quality, but hey, it’s YouTube, what’d you expect? Frankly, I probably won’t use YouTube for anything else. I just don’t like it. At all. You can, however, view the rest of my videos on Blip.tv at my show page. Enjoy.

AWESOME! I luv all ur videos! theyre really good in showing how the iphone is too overrated.
Are you interested in converting them so they can be played on the N95? I could convert the youtube videos for you, if you wanted.
Ricky and Stefan, these are AWESOME! My wife, Karen, after seeing all of your “commercials”, asked, “Why would anyone want to buy an iPhone? My N80 isn’t even as good as an N95, but it’s still better than an iPhone.”
Nokia marketing should write you guys a fat check and start airing these.
Nice job guys…really. I enjoyed each and every one of them!
@Xentac I have the mp4 versions which can be downloaded and played on the N95, N93 etc. over at http://blogs.s60.com/s60multimedia/
That has to be the most piss poor excuse for a mockery……Your site is GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sure- the iPhone might actually play customizable ringtones, but I think you’ve got to buy the song off itunes for starters, then you pay 99 cents for every ringtone. At that rate, it’d cost me the price of my N95 to have all my N95 mp3 ringtones on the iPhone.
Someone asked why anyone would buy an iPhone- it’s pretty simple- it has an Apple logo. That’s it. There would be no press coverage of any kind if this thing was released in today’s market without that logo.
We wouldn’t be hearing Steve Jobs lie so much either. The whole iPhone thing took all of Apple and Steve Jobs down about fifteen rungs in my mind.
I personally liked all your videos. But I have to say a couple of things that will also be further detailed on my site (christinad.wordpress.com.). I think it is great that you guys made these videos and better that you explained the last one might offend people. At least they knew in advance what they were in for. Great job guys! I would hire you.
Two points for you, Mr. Interloper-
1. The N95 supports H.264. So does the N93. One more point that proves apple fanboys don’t know a thing about the mobile world, and never will because they’re blind to all the facts. All you can hear is what your master Steve Jobs tells you- which are lies. The iPhone is not the first mobile with GoogleMaps, full Internet and… wait for it- H.264. Owned.
2. The iPhone is not high tech, but it does have a neat-o apple logo. It’s the first phone with one of those. Pretty much the only first. Wait- actually, I think there’s a few more if we think about it.
It’s the first iPhone to not support MMS… the first iPhone to not have GPS, or HSDPA… the first iPhone with a non-user replaceable battery, or with the inability to make a VOIP call, or do instant messaging. It’s also the first iPhone not to have a VGA video out, or take 640×480 video at 30 fps, come to thing of it- it can’t take video at all- which is good, because you can’t just go tossing another memory card in there either. First iPhone to do that. Heck- it’s the first PHONE in a while that can’t do that. Can’t wait to toss that 32GB card in my N95 next year.
But here’s the kicker… it’s so NON-convergence friendly, that it comes with a TENTH of the storage of my wife’s iPod- that’s if you get the “big” one. So you’ll wanna remember to take your iPod with you- and enjoy your wires, because there’s no stereo audio without them on the iPhone. Genius for such a “great” dedicated music player.
So what have you got to say about that? I’d love to hear your retort.
The other interesting thing about this blog entry is that some apple fanboy would come here telling us about high tech mobiles.
Sheesh. What a JOKE.
Oh yeah… 2 megapixels, no flash.
Cheers to the “high tech” iPhone. The only thing that the iPhone has owned the last week is the media coverage- which was all based on lies and misrepresentation of a product two years behind anything on the market- not five years ahead, sorry Steve Jobs.

Actually, I think a lot of people that read this site don’t come here just for the comments. I know I sure as hell don’t. The site put up by Ricky is by far the most interesting cell phone site that has yet to get my attention. That is pretty freaking good. Considering to get my attention on a website you better have some good articles that will catch my attention, for longer then 10 secs. Because if you don’t then you are just SOL!!! And I can probably say that most of my friends agree with me. Two, I don’t see your sorry excuse for Youtube videos anywhere? Oh wait that is right, you are probably one of those idiots that waited 40 hours in line for a $600 iphone that you can’t even activate. Must suck for you. And your so freaking proud of your 25 free ringtones Apple included. Well FYI to those that don’t know my N73 holds over 500 songs for free!!! And whether or not the iphone has owned technology that last week is of least importance. So was Paris Hilton’s getting out of jail!! After a few days no one gives a freaking care!!! So grow up Mr. Interloper, there are more important things in the world like people dying!!!!
Sounds like Interloper can’t take a joke! Anyway, can you view the video on the iPhone? I think not. Anyway, some of us have asked for this to be converted to H.264 for the express purpose of being able to display it on our N95s and iPhones.
Yeah, comic boy- you also said that the N95 doesn’t support most video codecs.
Hmmm- M95 plays mp4 h.264, divx, xvix, mov, mpeg, avi…
What codec does is not support? I’m super confused here. Please enlighten me.
Toss me in the offended group. I thought better of you guys.
I just want to say after reading all the comments, who gives a crap about what people think. I am so sick of reading about how people were offended. And if you were offended then go somewhere else or how about you just grow up.
TO: pseudofinn
I know you want to believe that it’s just the Apple logo, right? It has to be, oh please it must be the logo. Sorry, wrong.
“Sheesh. What a JOKE” that’s what the N95 is, compared to the iPhone. A 16million color screen at only 2.6″ QVGA resolution? And this is supposed to be a the creme de la creme from Nokia? Why is the battery life so bad when the screen is so small AND the CPU runs at half the speed of the iPhone?
How’s the audio quality of the N95 compared to the iPhone, tell me about jokes, please, total domination that’s what, OWNED. And i’m not talking about the user interface, let’s not go there, for the N95’s sake.
“32GB card..” I love this part “next year”, RLOL. I’d rather have 8GB TODAY, we’ll see about next year.
Replaceable battery? You seriously wanna bring up the battery in the same discussion with the N95? How many batteries does an N95 user have to carry around vs an ipod user that can’t change their battery, a stack, that’s how many.
For me this is the kicker, would I replace my laptop with either device to surf the web? With an N95, heck no, and I’m not even talking about the battery. Would I do the same with the iPhone, yes, Yes, YES!!! And that’s what Apple does best, makes things not only useable and friendly, BUT makes you actually enjoy what you are using it for.
Wow, fanboy crapdom in full blow on this one, too bad I was sick and late for the party (and am now deleting hundreds of posts about a phone I could give a shit less about from my RSS reader — should have checked it more while I was sick). Anyway, couple of things:
1.) To those that are defending the iPhone: just go on your merry way, enjoy your new toy, and keep believing that everyone else doesn’t have a clue. It’s the same mentality that keeps you thinking that OS X is the most secure OS on the planet. It’s the same mentality that kept you justifying for years why there was “no need for a two button mouse”. It’s the same mentality that has kept you saying “it’s worth it to pay 6 times as much for the hardware” (which has finally come down in price the last few years). You’ve drank the Kool-Aid, we get it. You have Apple bumper stickers and you all fancy yourself amateur graphic designers. We get it. So go ahead, have fun, and the rest of the world will continue to function without you, no matter how far you look down your noses at us.
2.) To all those that are trying to defend the Nokia N95 to the iPhone: don’t bother, for all the reasons stated above. Talking to a Mac-head is like talking to Jerry Falwell: you might as well be hitting a button labeled “rhetoric”, and it’ll keep spitting the same phrases out at you (out of a pool of maybe 10 or 12 core phrases, with the occasional reference to Steve Jobs’ greatness).
Remember: if Apple is anything, they are the greatest marketing company on earth — whomever buys it, buys it hook line and sinker.
As for the offensiveness of the commercial (if you were one of the offended), Ricky warned you about it — if you don’t like what you see, then move on. I’ll be honest, I’m not terribly offended by it, but I think it could have been done in a different way.
In the end, it’s a moot point. It’s Ricky’s site — either deal with it, or go elsewhere, but quit bitching.

Funny how AGAIN you forget to mention how Apple brought to the masses the GUI and MOUSE. They may not have invented it but they did what was needed to make it accessible to everyone. Of course you were probably one of the masses saying how it was HYPE, lol. Please. Save it, unless of course it makes you feel better.
This site is open to to public, it is you that needs to deal with it or go elsewhere. Fan Boy.
