New & Updated Applications Galore!!
I’m lumping these together so it’s easier for you, and doesn’t make me look like a post-whore. Several popular applications have either come out, been updated, or announced that they will be updated VERY soon in the recent week, so here’s a recap:
From the friends at the OTHER SymbianGuru,(no hyphen) there’s Autoprofiles, as reviewed by my friend Phoneboy. Autoprofiles does just like it sounds, it allows you to automate how and when your phone changes the profile, so that, for instance, at 830a every weekday morning, your phone switches to your "Office" profile, with lower-volume ringtones or perhaps a more work-appropriate ringtone. Price? a measly $10.
Quickoffice Premier 4.5 was just released, offering a "near-desktop level" experience. I’d love to get a copy of this….hint hint…..I already have v4 on my N95, and use it frequently for quick updates and to look at different work files before I email them off. I also always have my resume on hand and can customize and email it out at a moment’s notice. VERY handy (or at least hopefully one day it will be). Price? a hefty $50 (but worth it for heavy document-users)
Psiloc Total irRemote for S60v3 will be released soon. Devin over at The Nokia Guide lets us know that they’ve basically finished the app, and are merely building the database of equipment before officially releasing it. Price? TBA
Also from Psiloc is MiniGPS, as announced by my friend Darla Mack. Gotta be quick on her site, she was given 5 licenses to hand out, but they’re gone.
Wallpaper Manager allows you to preselect wallpapers and have them automatically change based on the day of the week. Pretty limited, but cool, and hopefully updated as well. Theme changer would be pretty cool, as one commenter points out. Price? Free.
Also, there’s something REALLY exciting regarding applications, coming to you straight from the Guru (with some help from friends). Should be available in the next week or so, I really think it’s going to be big!
If you have version 4.0 of Quickoffice version 4.5 is a free upgrade.
