*Update* New N-Gage Interface and Game Demos
*Update* I did some exploring and found an AWESOME guided tour of the new Ngage platform. Click through for the video.
The guys over at Symbian-Freak have found what appears to be a really in-depth video promo of the new N-Gage gaming platform from Nokia. Personally, I’m REALLY excited about this, and anxious to see what all is going to go down with the launch of this new platform.
You may or may not remember the original N-Gage platform. Financially, it was a complete bomb. There’s a TON of things that you can point out that went wrong, but let’s check out the few things that went right:
The first and most important is that the 2 major GSM carriers in the US both carried BOTH Ngage devices, the original and the QD. That’s really huge, in my opinion. Also, they were pretty much unbranded, if I recall correctly. Also, I personally thought the Ngage QD had a fantastic design, and wouldn’t mind seeing an updated version with EDGE, US 3G, and WiFi, and a decent cam.
The second is that despite the platform being a financial failure, it was a marketing success. Why? Because of the wealth of information that is now available to Nokia, first hand, to recreate and improve this version. Everything that I’ve seen shows that they really pored over the user data, feedback, and criticisms of the original attempt, and are really pushing for this second attempt to be a success.
Take a look at this video after the break and you’ll see why I’m excited. The graphics are nearly PS2 quality, and there’s also the rumors recently that they’re developing cross-platform games, which coincides with my Tiger Woods PGA Tour wish, as well.
What do you think? Are you excited about the new N-Gage platform, or do you think it’s another waste?

Very excited, looks really cool and hopefully it will run perfectly on my N95
That video is from March 11, why is it news now?
Al - You’re right, it IS from March. I put it as news because I’d never seen it before. My apologies for not checking things out. Thanks for the keen eye.
