There’s yet another version of the N95, this time hanging onto the Euro 3G but adding an 8GB hard drive and getting a dark makeover. From the pic, you can see it looks like they kept the redesigned back from the US 3G version, as well as the new battery. No word from the FCC on the upped RAM, but I’m sure it’s in there as well. This time they also shrunk the D-pad and surrounding keys and increased the screen size.
Personally, I think all these versions of the same phone (that’s 3, now) is stupid. Yeah, they’re well-needed enhancements, but can you imagine how confusing it is to us enthusiasts, much less regular consumers? Who’s the person who thought it would be a great idea to have three vastly different devices all named simply "N95"? Seriously? That’s a marketing NIGHTMARE.
What do you think? I’m glad that they’ve fixed several things like the RAM and battery life, but they should have named them differently, at the least. Granted, they’re not officially announced yet, either, so let’s hope Nokia’s reading and simplifies things for us a bit.
