Nokia DT-22 Tripod is in the HOUSE

Dsc01681_2
After using Silly Putty to hold my N95 up for the last Driving with the Guru video, I broke down and bought a Nokia DT-22 tripod off Ebay. Because of what "brown" did to for me, it took nearly 2 weeks for me to get it, but I have to say, it was well worth the wait.

First off, the DT-22 is built to last. I was honestly expecting it to be very cheap feeling. Not sure why, but I was. The legs are very solid and feel like they’re made of metal. The feet are rubbery so that they won’t slide all over the place. The silver parts are all metal and held together quite well.

Video Walkthrough after the break…

The top part that screws into the clip is on a ball joint, which makes
it very flexible, allowing you to get pretty much any angle you could
want. There is a little knob to turn which tightens and locks it into
place.

The top clip portion is completely detachable. The bolt that it
attaches with is the universal bolt like on any tripod, so you could
use this tripod with any digital camera, still or video. The clip,
however, is also very well-built. High-quality plastics with big rubber
grips and a metal tightening system make this one of the most
impressive cellphone accessories I’ve ever seen.

The Nokia DT-22 Tripod retails for around $40 USD shipped, and I have
to say, for someone who wants to get the most out of their digital
camera, be it phone or not, it’s the best tripod I’ve seen. Very small
yet incredibly useful. Here’s the link where I bought mine.

  1. Thanks for the link. Snagged one right away, supposed to be here Wednesday :)

  2. I see its not much different from the Sunpack Versapod that’s on Amazon.
I dont like mounting the N95 like that, it obstructs the volume buttons.
I usually attach it perpendicular so the grips are to the left of the volume buttons.

I’ve been looking for a better mount that can widen enough to accept the N95 from top to bottom.

  3. I didn’t find a Sunpack Versapod when I searched Amazon, could you provide a link?

It obstructs the volume keys that way, but it leaves the more important camera button available. I agree that it would be better if it could open wide enough to hold the phone longways.

  4. lol this is basically my exact same video review, except with your accent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5QFRa5rAeU

  5. Lol, I forgot you did one, too! Well, readers, you can watch both and vote, then, heh.

  6. I just ordered Sunpack Versapod. I’ll give it a test drive and will post some feedback on my blog…but don’t expect too much…It’s a tripod after all.

  7. What is all that written on your floor!

  8. Just got mine in the mail. Well built but you have to be careful about the balance because with the phone’s weight out to the side, it looks like it could tip over easily.

  9. Looks like the Versapod’s legs don’t extend, so you loose balace.

  10. whats ‘Phontography’ I thought the spelling was ‘photography’.

  11. [...] more than 2 video feeds over the same access point got to be too much. The N82s, setup in the Nokia DT-22 tripod, were small enough that they didn’t cause a big distraction, and the tripod allowed them to [...]
