Nokia N76 - Initial Thoughts
Monday I received my Piano Black Nokia N76 (sadly, it’s not Camo) from the great people over at WOM World. It’s not a keeper, I have to send it back in 2 weeks, but that’s ample time for me to play with it and test out everything I can possibly think of.
I’m not going to give any thoughts as to whether I like or dislike it yet, mainly because I’m already biased against flip phones. The form factor just seems counter-intuitive to me, but that’s not really relevant.
Some things I already love about the phone: 3.5mm jack, 42.5MB of RAM free on boot (!!!), build quality is phenomenal, screen’s nice and bright.
I’ll be taking random videos, pictures, and whatnot with it. What I’m looking for is anything you’d like to know about the phone, and anything you want me to test with it. I’ve got my usual apps loaded up and put where I like them, including ShoZu, which I will be writing about later.
So I’m asking you, what do you want to know about the phone? At my disposal, I’ve got the N73, N95, N75, N800, SU-8W, and LD-1W. Anything with those, let me know and it will be done.
Couple of questions:
1. does symella crash, or run slow?
2. what’s the picture quality like compared to other phones (except the N95)
3. how is web browsing with all that extra memory?
I am curious what kind of battery life you get. I haven’t found the battery life to be all that bad. It has at least as good as the N75 but not as good as the N73. The only real downside to the N76 in my opinion is the camera.
The real question is… Does it fly when attached to a kite?
Yeah..they sent me a N93i to review too. Gonna be testing it out for 2 weeks.
I will test Symella, and the battery life in different situations. Thus far, I have yet to kill the battery in one day, but I haven’t really been using it, either, so it’s not a fair judgement.
I want to buy the N76 real bad. But I was reading up the specs, “165 mins talk time” on GSM.
Does that mean I cant stay (talking) on the phone for more than 3 hours continuous ?
How does the N76 Battery life compare to the N73 music edition ?
Does the Camera 2 Meg compared to the 3.2 Meg of N73 still make it worth it ?

Same for me, I really want to know about the battery life. I still have my old samsung E600 that works as a charm, and has a battery life of 1 week approximatively. I usually switch it off at night, and dont really make extensive use of it during the day. So without using it too much, how far do you go ?
Im really interested in that phone, but if it lasts less than 3 days, I’ll have to refrain from buying it…
