RM-310 - Another version of the 612x?

The guys over at MobileWhack have found yet another new Nokia on the FCC’s confusion of online documents. As you can see, it’s identical to the 6120 and 6121 that we’ve seen before, and it’s been approved by the FCC. A quick perusal of the documentation reveals that "the difference between RM-310 and RM-243 (which we know is the 6121) is that the RM-310 has had the WCDMA850 and WCDMA2100 components removed."
Thanks, FCC Overlords. So I suppose we could assume
this is going to be what, the 6122? Nope, if you zoom in a bit on the label pics, you’ll see that it’s the 6120c, and that alot of the writing back there is in Chinese! So we’re looking at yet another customized version of this device, this time headed to the mobile-happy Chinese peeps, and cut down to just GSM/EDGE.
Any other questions?

Wow, it should be very cheap then, and do extremely well as a way for Nokia to make S60 more popular in China! In fact, a similar “cheapo” S60 could do fairly well in the US as well, given that 3G coverage and uptake by consumers is still pretty spotty..
they are made for “official” china market, because there’s no 3g network in china, seems cn gover.ment is forcing producers to drop 3g module in their products…
just like the chinese n95, which lacks 3g and wifi (which is not permitted in china as well).
and dont think they sell these “cut-down” phone for less money… the fact is these “official” versions sells way more than, say in HongKong or any other place, this is just sad..
