Today’s the Day! Press Pics already Leaked!
So today is the magical day (actually in about 3 hours!) when the Nokia: Go Play event finally goes down. Try as I may, I was unable to get any details out of anyone last night. I had the pleasure to hang with Frank, Richard, Mike, and Donna from WOM World, bloggers extraordinaire Rafe Blandford and Ewan Spence, Anssi from Nokia, the infamous Stefan, Munkimatt from the Nokia Geek blog, and Scott, aka Emo1587 from the Ngage Forums (the guy has 11,000 posts! Are you kidding me?) (no, he wasn’t rocking an Ngage, but he did have the venerable N73). You can imagine the killer conversations that were had, it was an awesome evening.
So back to the big stuff. I have no idea who was first, and I’m sure other bloggers have it, as well, but the ones that I saw first in my reader were Darla Mack and Devin’s Symbian Universe. They both have the press pics of the new devices set to be announced this morning and they’re simply stellar! Let’s cover them quickly:
1. N81 - duh
2. N95 8GB version - it was either this one or the US 3G one, but I have a feeling the US 3G one won’t be announced for another month or two.
So wait, what did I predict? I’ve been saying I thought there would be at least 1 S40 device, and another device that no one has heard of yet, a complete unknown…
3. The 5310 Xpress Music - no clue what the improvements are over the previous version, but I would guess a hard drive maybe?
4. The 5610 Xpress Music (I think this one is the candybar)
5. 5700 in all black
So that’s it. It’s pretty assumed they’ll launch the Ngage platform (specially with Scott here, that’s a dead giveaway). That’s it for now. I’m off to get ready and hunt down some strong coffee up in this joint. I’ll be posting from my N95 via Lifeblog throughout the day, so there might be some random posts, but just go with it, it’ll be ok. Turns out T-mobile UK has unlimited data for 1 pound/day on their prepaid. With HSDPA. That rocks my face off.
