US 3G N95 Hits the FCC Finally

N95_us3g_back
Fresh off the press, to those who STILL doubted on the US 3G N95, even after I produced the sales flyer AND the live pics, because there wasn’t anything on the FCC, well, eat this! Courtesy of the diehards over at Wirelessinfo.com (you’d have to be a diehard to navigate the FCC’s mess) we have the official FCC documentation of the US 3G N95. This one’s in black, so it looks like we’re faced with a color decision, but still uses the fancy new battery, along with the love-it-or-hate-it redesigned backplate.

Confirmed is the AT&T 850/1900 3G bands. Also confirmed is the lack of T-mobile’s 3G bands, which is no surprise to this blogger. Not much else to say, really. It’s old information, just being legitimized. Enjoy the pics, there’s more here.

  1. “Lack of T-mobile’s 3G bands”
Can you please elaborate on this point. What does that imply ? Does it mean that T-mobile customers cannot make use of 3G facility ? I’m also wondering as why is this not a surprise.. Maybe i missed something?

  2. Does anyone have any idea, whether this version of the N95 will be released in the Asian-Pacific region (India) ?

  3. Ricky, cool, this means that it could in principle be in the stores pretty soon. You would not happen to know if the new firmware going into the 8GB will also be used in this one (e.g. the new multimedia menu and music store and N-Gage applications)?

  4. I have been a T-Mobile customer for years, starting with them when they offered the Nokia 3650, one of the earlies S60 phones that was cutting-edge…one of the very first camera phones. IMO, T-Mobile USA’s phone model offerings have gotten less and less “cutting-edge,” more mainstream, less adventurous, less enticing. It is very disappointing. It’s as if they are simply playing it so safe that they’ve gotten boring. I’d much rather stay with T-Mobile, but Verizon and even AT%T have trumped them on cutting-edge innovative technology and exciting phone model offerings. May switch.

  5. DK, true, but let’s first wait and see if the N95 actually comes to AT&T… the N75 story makes one a little cautious about that.

  6. cool.. and I’m really-really hoping this phone will be available in south east asia!

  7. How long have you been mentioning this? Since the first one came out in April?

News this good almost makes me want to switch to AT&T, but not until if they’re going to brand it and lock it down to hell.

  8. I’m not really sure, this one will be any better than the standard european version. I hate that it doesn’t have any cover for the photo lens.

  9. I agree, the lack of a lens cover upsets me as well. The whole camera bezel looks cheap to me. The buttons on the front of the device look wierd too. Why are they smaller? They weren’t exactly large before.

The additional RAM is the only thing that gets me going. Still reported to have 128M?

  10. Pseudofinn, are you sure the keys are smaller? To me they look the same in this one. They are smaller in the 8GB version (which some say has a slightly larger screen, which is to be confirmed).

To me the lense cover is not a biggie. Just clean it regularly and you are ok (I have never had a scratch on the plastic covering the lense of my various phones, just dust/lint).

  11. Sorry- I think I had the other N95 to-be-released in mind. The.. 320?

I almost always end up with smudges on the lens whenever I foul up and leave the lens cover open. That and the dust/lint. I don’t relish the idea of cleaning the lens everytime I pull out my 5mpix camera.

  12. Here’s my favorite part: They’ve upped the battery energy storage from 950 mAh to 1200 mAh. A 26% increase. Gotta love that…
