Nokia E51 Hands-On Video

Phonescoop has a nice little hands-on video on their YouTube account with the new Nokia E51. This slim little E-series device packs quite the feature list, including a 2MP cam, HSDPA (for the Euro bands, sorry, US), and WiFi, all running on S60v3 Feature Pack 1.

Other than the ~$485 USD pricetag, I’m really impressed by this device. For that kind of scratch, I’d just as soon have the N81 8GB, personally, but that’s just me. Which would you prefer? They’re both featured roughly the same (basically just a different form factor and 8GB).

  1. I would probably take the N81 even though I much prefer the candybar form, but I can imagine there are a ton of people who will go for the E51 for its size etc.

Ricky, it would be great if you (here or on Mobileburn) could write a feature article on what Nokia’s enterprise division is really doing to push these devises and their services, and also on what e.g. a company’s IT people can do to enhance productivity and security if they select an E-series phone (remote locking, email, telephony etc.).

  2. Oh and the price tag when/if it comes to the US market may not be Euro350 * 1.4. In fact, one can now buy e.g. E90 cheaper here than in e.g. in Finland. So there is hope it could be a little cheaper in the US even when it comes out.

  3. That’s a great idea. I’ll work on that. Thanks!

  4. I love it, but as you said, for that price I’ll splurge for the N81 or N95 without a doubt. I suppose for BB Connect die hards it would make for a nice option but otherwise it’s way over priced imo. Drop down to the 3 hundo range and you’ve got a bargain….

  5. Again, multiplying the announced euro price at current exchange rate may not be the right calculation.

  6. Here in Canada, the E51 has a pre-order price of $381CDN, so definitely an excellent deal in my opinion.
