Driving With The Guru - Ep 17
Here you go, episode 17. I’ll give you a little recap of what’s happened in the last week, as well as let you see What’s In My Glovebox. There’s some commentary regarding the Smartphone Show that was in London, Motorola’s investment in UIQ, as well as a guest with me on this trip!
I’ll also answer some reader mail and highlight a few things from Nokia’s 3rd Quarter Reports. Check it out and be sure to stay tuned next week for another Chatting with the Guru.

Driving With The Guru - Episode 16
I promised you I’d have a new episode of Driving with the Guru up today, and by golly, I’m going to! Sorry for the delay, but I now bring you Episode 16 of Driving with the Guru - back to the basics. After alot of consideration, I’ve moved the show back to the car. It’s just not the same with all the artificial crap. I am going to work extra hard on the stability issue, so stay tuned for that.
I have another toy in my glovebox in this episode, as well as some cool other stuff going on.
Note: Currently this video is only uploaded to YouTube. If you’re subscribed to my Driving with the Guru video feed, please check back, it should be up on Blip.tv soon.

ricky, your flash video module is REALLY ANNOYING, stop wasting everyones bandwidth by forcing us to download it.
my second comment is, the driving with the guru thing, doesn’t really work….
I am sure all people want to see, is photos and devices…
Video doesn’t really do anything for us. You dont have any phones, you dont have any pics, you just show yourself…. its not really… appealing..
I am not sure what others think about your videos, but I dont buy them.
I love the driving with the Guru videos. Something original (gasp.. something original in a tech blog???!?! Could that really be? Please keep doing them.
On the other hand.. eww.. keep those nasty non-Symbian things out of your glove box..
The serious point I would like to make that we all should try to see also the bigger picture of the business that Nokia is in, not _just_ the top end, exiting range that we all love to talk about and own.
Third, I think you do need to study up a bit on the _global_ cell phone market. N70 sells like hot cakes in many emerging/developing markets. It also sells like hot cakes because its dirt cheap. Btw, did you know (non-smartphone, granted), that e.g. 5140 (yeah, that super old plasticy thing) is still one of the top sellers e.g. in Sweden (1100 series is too)?
@Dan…Why even bother with this blog if it doesn’t meet your needs? ;(
I love and look forward to driving with the guru every week. Keep them coming.
