First Live Pics of the Nokia N82

N82compare
You all remember back in May when the image of the Nokia N82 leaked, as well as the full spec sheet showing the features of this hot little phone? Then a few weeks ago, the XML page was found online. Well, over at Mobile-Review, they’ve got the first live shots of this Imaging King, and they’re spot-on.

If you’ve forgotten the specs, you can get back to my original post here. It’s basically a candybar version of the N95, with a Xenon flash for even better pictures. GPS, TV-Out, etc, it’s all there. You can see my original picture above, next to the new live pic. It looks very much like an SE handset by design, and also notice that the end/send keys are on the sides nearly, similar to the N81. At first I wasn’t a real big fan of that, but the more I’ve used it, the more I’m used to it.

I guessed earlier that it’d be announced in November (along with the N810, which I was wrong about) so we’ll see on the 2nd whether I’m right.

  1. Looks nice. Though I don’t think I’ll get one. I’m waiting for Nokia’s S60 Touch. (Some people are theorizing that device won’t debut in the N-Series. What do you think about that?)

The spy shot of the N82 looks quite a bit thinner than the image on the left. The gunmetal color is nice, too.

  2. Hmmm… can’t say I like the design of this at all really. I’m a slider nut to begin with, but I do appreciate the fact that not everyone digs a slider, especially with Nokia’s apparent inability to get it right…

But what’s with the numeric keys? This just doesn’t look like a Nokia, and seems like it would feel even less like a Nokia. I need to see more pictures with better resolution, and hold the thing in my hand. It just doesn’t seem right to me. Those little buttons… why?

  3. Agreed. For number input it wouldn’t be a problem, but any prolonged texting and I think there would be permanent indentations on your fingers. Ow.

  4. I had a chance to try the keys of the SE K810; fingerprints aside I find them quite useful for people with big fingers as pressing the wrong key is nearly impossible. I don’t like the look of them but that ain’t all in life.
The N82 really looks thinner then the spy image, rawly half the height of the central button. It’s a wonder how they packed so much in so little space!
I just hope the battery lasts as much as the old N73

  5. My company gave me the 6080. It’s a pain to write more than 2 sms per day. It’s simply awful. I don’t know what Nokia designers were thinking. Too bad.
When I saw the specs i thought: my next phone. When I saw the renders i thought: Come on. Wake up and change those ridicule keys. When I saw the first pic i thought: “Next…”

  6. NOVEMBER,3… and where is it? NOKIA keeps silence again.
