Google Gmail Mobile Updated

Well, apparently I let the chaps at AllAboutSymbian know about the new Google Maps Mobile updated, and they have returned the favor with the new version of Google Gmail Mobile. Unfortunately, Google has updated their Gmail Mobile app, but not created an S60 native version, yet.

There’s still plenty of updates to the application, though. The biggest is the improved contact management. In this new version, clicking on a contact will bring you to their full vCard, including address and phone number, and you can even dial them directly from the application. You can also now save a message as a draft if you’d like to.

To get the updated app, direct your phone to http://www.gmail.com/app, or use the barcode reader on your Nseries device to snap a shot of this barcode:Gmail Mobile

  1. Just wish it would work on my N95 - seems not to be accepting my password :-X I know it’s correct or I wouldn’t be on Gmail right now, but it just won’t accept it even if I copy and paste it from another app on the phone.

The previous version was working flawlessly so I may have to find a copy of it and revert back :-(

  2. Love the QR code!

  3. @Davidpitkin I figured you would. It takes all of 2 minutes to put in the post, I’ll probably start doing it with all downloadable apps. I wonder if anyone else finds them useful?

  4. Yes please, keep coming those codes, it is very fast way to “copy” the link to the phone browser. So thanks :)

  5. ummm … anyone want to tell me why that qr code is taking me to some typepad.com blog login page?

  6. Thanks for the heads up Germ. I’ve updated the code to point to the correct URL.
