N95 USB Cradle - Why Not, Nokia?

N95cradle
Maximus has found a killer accessory for the N95. The Nokia N95 USB Cradle and 2nd Battery Charger is available from Brando for $27 USD shipped. Not bad, considering this is a freakin desktop cradle for your N95. Nokia, I’ve probably said this before, but I’m going to go ahead and say this again: please, for the love of pete, start creating these desktop stands for your phones again. Please. They’re greatness.

Nokia, you’ve created them in the past for the N91 and the 880x series. In fact, while I’m making requests, I want to let you know that the glowing blue light for the 880x series desktop stand was a phenomenal idea. Let’s take it one step further: different colors to indicate things. Let’s make it red when the phone’s battery is nearly dead, gradually fading to white or blue as the battery is charged. And make the light move around the base when it’s syncing or transferring data.

These suggestions may seem silly, but think about the practicality. With one quick glance at my desk, I can see what my phone is doing at any given moment. That’s powerful, and really convenient. It’s also fun, which is ok. I have ordered this desktop stand and will be testing it soon. Sure wish it was coming from Nokia, instead of some random Hong Kong company……

  1. WOW! Thats awesome! How i wish there’s something like this for n93 !!

  2. These things really are useful,9300i comes with one afaik, and it has a button allowing the phone to sync with pc,this really would be cool if it would bea available for all phones

  3. There have been some bad feedback about this kind of third party cradles. Some have complained about how large they are, overly long charging times for both phone and spare battery, syncing not working after a while regardless of cable and overheating of the unit itself.

I’m not sure if the brando one is the same version, but it would be nice to see if it these issues are evident here aswell.

  4. This is very similar to one an ex-colleague of mine bought from ebay recently…

  5. How about a cradle that flashes orange when a text comes in, or just goes bananas with flashing lights when a call comes in?

Great idea Ricky, I’d really love something like this for work.
