Nokia N95 Desktop Stand

You may recall nearly a month ago I ordered this desktop stand from Brando. It cost $27USD to ship it to my house, and it finally came today. Wait, I ordered on the 1st, and today’s the 18th? Yes. VERY aware of that. After sending an email wondering where my stand was, I did receive an email back stating that they were out of stock but getting more in. Nonetheless, Brando’s online tracking page said it was shipped out on the 9th. 10 days to get from Hong Kong to Texas? Well, it *was* cheap shipping, so I won’t complain much.

Anyways, here’s the video showing it off. The USB portion works great. Set the phone down on the USB and power prongs and off it goes, connecting to my computer and doing all things it should – except for charging. Yeah, that’s right. $30 and 3 weeks and the darn thing doesn’t charge my N95. The connections are there, as I get a quasi-friendly message on my N95 saying, "Not Charging." I’m not quite sure what to do about this at the moment, but I’ll likely be requesting a refund, probably. We’ll see. Anyways, enjoy the video. **Update** It’s charging now. No clue what I changed, but I’m scared to touch it.

    Hi Ricky,
It looks pretty cool and I just might get one of these, but I just wish Nokia made these. As I always prefer OEM, but oh well.

I got this after seeing the Guru’s first blog about this charging dock. So far my N95-3 doesn’t fit and won’t seat properly onto the the charging pin and mini usb connector. I’m afraid to use too much excessive force setting the phone in the dock that might damage my phone.

yeah, i almost got one of these, then realised i could make one from cardboard. So far i couldnt ask much more from it. Uses my usb cable i got with it, and a charger i bought for a quid from a closing down sale. (im from the uk, but thats about $2).

    Hi!

My N95 developed a problem where it displays the word nokia then it does not proceed. When flashed, it then refused to charge. What could have gone wrong?

    Thanks for any assistance.

Dude not charging means the USB power cannot provide enough power.

Try plugging it into it’s own USB port on the back of the PC or use a powered USB hub.
