Smartphones Show 45 - Recap and N95 8GB
Steve’s up with his Smartphones Show Episode 45 today, and there’s TONS to check out. He starts off with a teaser of the latest phone for him to play with, as well as a comprehensive recap of the Symbian Smartphone Show in London this week. He’s also got a pretty intense rundown of features of the N95 8GB.
One thing interesting is that during the show, Steve states that the N95 8GB features Demand Paging, which is designed to drastically speed up the Symbian OS, and something I thought was only available in the upcoming Feature Pack 2.

Smartphones Show 44 - PC-Free?
Steve’s back with Smartphones Show Ep 44, and this time he spends some time with the recent HTC devices announced in London. I’ll confess, the HTC Shift UMPC is VERY tempting for a blogger who’s on the go. At $800, I’ll have to check it out when I’m computer shopping next year.
A popular trend among smartphone bloggers is the idea of replacing our laptops with our mobile devices. I explored it with my PC-Free series, and now Steve explores the idea a bit more in this episode of the Smartphones Show.
Episode 45 will come straight out of the Symbian Smartphone Show in London, and I’d assume will have some footage of the AAS Pub Meet and the recently announced Evening with S60 in London.
This would explain the shorter startup time of the new N95-2: if the system can limit the libraries loaded to the ones needed it could save a lot of time during the bootup
