Free App Friday: LCG Jukebox

Handango is the largest mobile phone software distributor in the world. They’ve recently begun a program called Free App Friday, designed to bring people to their site. The applications range from Windows Mobile apps to Symbian, and are for varying purposes. Today’s app is LCG Jukebox for Symbian S60 devices!

LCG Jukebox is a music player from LonelyCatGames, the people who brought you Profimail and Smartmovie. MP3 and OGG are both supported, and there is a sleep timer, playlist editor, and equalizer. LCG Jukebox also features internet streaming, and can connect to the internet to download album art and lyrics for your tunes.

The biggest downside is that it still is limited to LonelyCatGames’ hideous color schemes. Come on, guys, really? Click on over to Handango to snag this cool app, and watch for a review in the next couple of days.

  3. Hey Ricky,

  4. I personally think LCG Jukebox is a great piece of software & the colour schemes can be customized to your liking. All in all you get a great app that normally costs $25 for only $0.You cant beat that!

  5. Wow, great find Ricky. I’m not sure if I’ll be using this over the built-in music player, but it’s the best way I’ve seen yet to play shoutcast streams on my N95.

  6. I agree that even with rapidly customised colours the UI is less than austhetically pleasing.

One things it DOES have over the built-in player though is bookmarking - it actually remembers what you were playing and picks up where you left off. Yay!

I don’t know if there’s a manual, but the playlist setup is less than intuitive. I can save a playlist, but it’s not obvious how I can switch to it once I’ve saved it.

  7. Not sure about anyone else, but every time I tried to complete the ‘order’ for the free app - I had the server crash on me.. I now know they use TomCat webserver - which kept throwing up errors left right and centre over a few hours when I tried to complete the order.

Living in Europe - kinda difficult to wait around till 1159 Central US time to try, so gave up after a couple hours of tries.

    Anyone else experience same problem?
