Handy Taskman Contest

Screenshot0026Stefan over at IntoMobile has finally discovered Handy Taskman (I think I might have introduced him to it, actually), an app that I swear by. You’ve seen it in countless screenshots here on Symbian-Guru.com, and it’s simply fantastic. Handy Taskman completely replaces the useless Task Manager part of S60 with an unbelievably useful screen. On the right side, you have the time and date, available RAM, available phone memory, and available removable memory. On the left, you have a list of the apps that are currently open. You can press options and choose from closing the app, killing the app (for apps that won’t close), or closing ALL open apps.

If you tab over to the right, you have a list of Recent apps. This is awesome if your app crashes for whatever reason, you have a really quick way to get back to it. Also, somewhat hidden in this screen, is an app searching utility. From here you can begin typing the name of an app (with predictive text) and it will search through your device and return with the apps. VERY quick for locating an app without messing about through your menus and folders and whatnot.

Stefan is so enamored with the application that he shot off an email to their PR person, who gifted him with 3 free licenses to give away. (Note to self: start emailing PR people more) Stefan’s decided to help Epocware out a bit more, and offer those licenses to readers who leave a comment with a small thing that you would change on your S60 device to improve your user experience. The contest lasts till November 26, so you still have a few days.

You can also trial the app for free for 14 days by clicking here, and buying is $20.

  1. Hi,

I’m posting this comment here since the Ligtsaber page is not working.

Just had the idea of a great application for the N95, using the inclinometer: A mobile Alarm!

For instance.. if i leave my mobile on the table, with the alarm on, and somebody picks it up, this will trigger the alarm.

something like the ‘iAlertU’ project on sourceforge.

    What do you think?
