Lightsaber V1.3 for N95 - Improved Again

Yesterday I received Lightsaber v1.3 in my email, and I think this one is DEFINITELY well done. Support for the 5500 has been dropped, though, in favor of some new features. Remember to install this on the phone memory, not your memory card, for best results.

Here’s the list of improvements on v1.3:

Opening and closing slide turns saber on and off (NICE)
Press any number key for a saber hit sound effect
More fx samples for swings
More Vrumms, less Tishes
Press d-pad left for volume down, d-pad right for volume up
Press d-pad up for Dark Side, d-pad down for Light Side

Here’s the install file:

Update: Graham has setup his own site to host V1.4, the final version: http://graho.wordpress.com/

  1. YAY! more vrmmmm and less tish!(my main complaint about the last version, nice to see someones listening) i love this app! its pointless, its geeky, but by god its great fun!

  2. With toys like this, being geeky is more than fun! May the force be with you *g*

  3. Hey Ricky, thanks for sharing it. I tested it on my N82 and it works fine ;)
Here a video how it on a N82 works:

  4. Doesn’t seem to work for me at all. I can install it but when I try to open it in Applications nothing happens. Any ideas?

I’m using an n95 with the latest firmware, and I installed it to phone memory.

  5. Ever since I installed the 2nd version lightsabre won’t open, using an N95, latest firmware too, the 1st version worked fine, now it comes up with the (-12)error and just won’t open. Any ideas?

  6. What a pointless app, what a bloody fantastic app! Could this be the best software yet?

Silly and amazing, I love it.

Is anyone going to write something to make our N95’s say “aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh I’m falling” if we drop them? I love stuff like this.

Worth noting:.. I couldn’t get it working at first until I found the first lightsabre post on here with the N95 accelerometer utils.sis, maybe worth adding that to this post again?

    Thanks for the tip

  7. Nope, not working for me. If I download it directly onto my phone it shows text only. Installing from my PC says there’s an error with the certificate.

    Any help. Pleaaazzzzz

  8. Oops sorry I forgot to mention I did download the N95 accelerometer as well.

  9. I tried downloading the application directly to my device, but the download keeps coming through as plain text and is not installable. Are the MIME types correct on your web server? For S60 3rd edition sisx files, it should be:
    x-epoc/x-sisx-app

  10. Hi, i have managed to download the accelerator to my N95 but when i download the lightsabre it just goes to text!. please help, i’m at my wits end after 2 days of trying.

  11. I had the same problem with the .sisx downloading as a text file. I solved it by emailing it to my gmail address as an attachment. Then using the phone’s browser to download the attachment! Worked a treat!

  12. Apologies to everyone, I should have the downloading issue resolved by Monday.

  13. Hi there,
I tryed to install the lightsabre, but my N95 tells me “the installing is not supported”.I have latest sw version on the phone V20.0.015 maybe this is the problem.

  15. same here.. “installation of lightsabre not supported”. Latest firmware installed yesterday. Damn it!!

  22. One of the best app available!! Useless but fun!! The only app I could think that can beat this is the app that turns your phone into a vibrator! Hahaha im not kidding I found an app like that
