Links Catch Up Post

I really hate doing these, as you know, but there’s simply no other way that I’m going to be able to catch up. This is basically all the stories that I have had starred in my Google Reader to come back to and post on. With the site redesign and launch, and other stuff going on, I simply don’t have time to go back through all these.

So get your middle-clicker and tabbed browser ready, cause here comes the links……

Darla Mack has the lowdown on Gizmo5 Beta IM. Free IM that you can setup to use all your other IMs like Jabber, Gtalk, MSN, AOL, Yahoo!, etc.

Zach reviews two new input methods for S60v3 apps: Adaptxt and VoiceMode speech-to-text. Try them both and see which works best for you!

Michael Mace has a KILLER article (what’s new) on the announcement of the Palm OS on the Nokia Internet Tablet via GarnetVM. Check it out.

Krystal at SMStextnews discovered a new Christmas-themed Nokia minisite: Nokia or a Fruitcake for the Canadian market. Kinda fun.

Google Notebook is now accessible on your mobile browser. Direct your mobile browser to www.google.com/notebook/m. I really wish Google would setup a splash page showing all of the mobile apps/services.

There is an update to WorldMate Pro available. If you don’t have this app installed on your handset, you should. Especially if you travel at all, this app is worth every penny for the weather updates and the flight schedules. Get it.

Minispeaker is a text-to-speech app for your S60 device. Lightweight so it won’t take up too much RAM. Here’s the site, here’s the download.

Thoughtfix found a REALLY cheap ($15) way to charge your Nseries device via USB. If you travel internationally, this is MUCH better than getting a couple of charger adapters. All you’d need is one for your laptop, and then charge everything else through your laptop’s USB port.

Stefan found out that Nokia is planning on releasing 30 handsets in the next 6 months. Holy crap, that’s alot of phones. That’s 5 per month. Looks like it’s going to be a KILLER Nokia World/CES/3GSM

New Firmwares: Nokia N95 8GB, N81, and E61i . A new one (v21.0.001) is coming soon for the original N95, and brings standby-search, demand paging, and a few other niceties.

Whew! Enjoy that, and stay tuned this week for more N82 coverage and OS comparisons (finally).
