New Firmware for N95-1 Finally Out
It’s finally here! The new firmware for your classic N95-1 is finally out, and it’s almost everything you’d hoped it would be. Improvements include:
1. Demand Paging - FINALLY. I’ll be testing this more.
2. New camera software
3. Ngage preview button
4. Search 4.0 on the desktop
5. New My Nokia app for SMS tips and other neat stuff.
6. Music Store app
7. Also the multimedia menu is the same (which honestly doesn’t bother me) and the keypress bug seems to be gone.
Get the Nokia Software Updater here, and then give it a whirl, the update should be live for all product codes, but if you find one that it’s not active for, let us know in the comments section. Enjoy your like-new phone!

I finished upgrading a while back, demand paging is simply amazing. Now I can open multiple application without any “out of memory error”. And camera is way faster. What can I say, feels like i just bought a new phone :D.

On the nokia website it says v20 is available for my product code, but when I go to update through the update app, it says I v12 is the current version
Nothing for a Mac user to do except use a buddies machine to upgrade is there?

Sorry to go off topic, but will demand paging be implemented for N73 anytime in the future? or its only for N95?

Is there another way to get it?
I purchased my N95 in Hong Kong and it runs v13, the updater showed that is the latest so I’m not able to get v15.
Any information on when and if I can get the v15 download?
Hey there is new function - video ringing tone… you can choose video clip as ringing tone. Great !!! Also avaiable on N95-8GB
installed v20 today. All looks good. So much quicker now, demand paging is great. Joy, i have a smartphone again!
take a look at the video centre - there are new video feeds available and new services too - goto settings and look around. video center now supports XMLTV and DVB-IPI
there are a couple new feeds including:
ONETV
which seems to provide streaming TV channels… albeit rather obscure channels, but since vimio LiveTV seems to be off-air now, this is streaming tv for the n95
gahhhhhhh!! When will they have a bloody updater for Mac? It’s so frustrating having to find a time where a work colleague (one of the few on Windows) can let me use their machine to do my updates… I’ve been advised strongly against doing it over Parallels, after it went pear-shaped for a few friends.
Ah well, today’s my last day using a Symbian phone as main device. My number’s been transfered to my iPhone (blasphemy, yeah yeah i know) and Nokia phones will become secondary when-needed devices.

FEEDBACK: Finally, I changed my product code to EURO-1 PLUM, updated the phone and I can confirm N95 on v20 is the best smart phone ever.
The ‘product change’ process is very very simple. Just a couple of clicks. Then the update went without any problems.
1) Everything is faster
2) BATTERY is better (quite surprising about it)
3) A lot of web sites I was unable to browse; now I CAN
4) I was unable to get a FULL MEMORY MESSAGE… I just don’t close applications right now…

I’m so happy with my all new and shiny firmware:
Free RAM grew from 14MB to 27MB and applications are loading much faster: with the old fimware C2Doom needed about one minute to load, now the mainscreen pops up afer amazing six seconds!!! Camera seems to be slightly faster, too, but I didn’t take the time.
The only bad thing is, that I had to manually reinstall all applications because the backup didn’t work well (might be caused by the different product code).
Yeah, and the rest of us N75 users get to consume feces…no firmware for us! innit great?
Hi guys, am based in Germany. I got 0552003 where as well the latest firmware v20 is not supported according to the updater. Which european product code would you recommend to use for getting the latest version v20 ? am really on fire to get the latest rel!

nimm den euro-1 und die entsprechende farbe deines n95 (z.b. 0536062 für euro-1, deep plum). mit nss ist der wechsel des product codes simpel. garantie ist dann wohl weg.
ich finde mein n95 weder wesentlich schneller (außer beim booten) noch hält der akku länger. bei karten ist dann auch der tracking-modus weg.
aber mehr ram wiegt das ganze auf!

Arg, I found a really annoying bug in the new Firmware: When I delete all songs of an artist, genre,… the artist,… still sticks in the artists section and there is no freaking way to delete it. Arg!!!
That way the lists will be flooded with useless, empty folders in no time and you wont be able to find anything anymore.
Please Nokia, fix it, and FIX IT FAST!

Can you manually delete it using the PC Suite function…go into the folders there and remove?

I mean the automatically generated folders in the music player. And no, i haven’t found any way to get rid of them using PC-Suite

ATT’s been texting me about an firmware update for my N75, but I’m not wanting to do it since I’ve already debranded. It would be cool if the added demand paging to the N75.
n95 is pro just use euro1 - plum that code is usually one of the first for updates, v21 coming out this year cant wait!
