ShazamID for S60v3

Stefan has long been obsessed with this TrackID app that Sony Ericsson has on all their handsets. I don’t listen to the radio, so I don’t get the draw, but after reading Eldar’s review of the Samsung SGH-i450 S60 handset, Stefan noticed that Eldar referenced an app called “ShazamID.” Some extensive Googling landed him the website, but it took some help from AllAboutSymbian’s Rafe and Steve to get the direct download link:

**Note this link only works when visited from your handset, hence the mobile barcode.**

You can read all about ShazamID over at Intomobile.com. I like the sharing and in-depth information aspects, but don’t really see myself using an app like this. What about you? Do you listen to the radio enough to get any use out of this?

  1. The Nokia 6555 has this application installed from day one, granted its called “MusicID” but its “powered by Shazam”, pretty sweet program if you like a song but don”t know the name of it…

  2. Thanks for pointing that out, Philly. Sounds like another feature that’s present on S40 phones but not on S60. For shame, Nokia, for shame.

  3. it’s useful for me - i listen a lot of recorded radio mixes from bbc :)

  4. It can’t identify every song, but so far it has returned correct results for any song ID’d. Pretty impressed.

  5. Music ID is loaded with AT&T phones. I have it on my N75 and it works pretty well. Of course it costs ~$3 extra per month.
