Coming Soon on Symbian-Guru

First of all, thanks to all you readers out there who’ve stuck with us while I constantly move servers and try to fix the new site. Hopefully you’ve all got your RSS coming through, and are enjoying the new look. I wanted to give you a little update to let you know what’s coming soon, as well as some of the things that I’m working on behind the scenes…

Here’s a list of the housekeeping that I’m still working on, and some of the new things:

1. Top navigation links - As you can see, I’ve finally linked Tablet-Guru here, and added a Contact Form. I’ll be tweaking this area up there, but at least it’s functional, rather than an empty about page.

2. Mobile Site - Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check this out. This was actually one of the driving forces behind the move to Wordpress, as the new mobile site now has active links, so you can follow the story, even on your mobile. In the near future, I will be moving back to the Winksite-powered launch page, so that you can get your S-G downloads on the go, and also will be adding new entries to the App Directory. This launch page will still bring you to the newly mobilized version of S-G, so don’t you worry. The mobilized version will also get a facelift so it looks pretty for you guys.

3. Optimized Podcast Feeds - Now that I’ve got a server with loads of bandwidth, I’ll likely be hosting the files here, which means I’ve got some cool options. Look for improvements in that soon (hopefully I can manage to do it without breaking the feeds again).

4. What do YOU want to see? I’m asking for feedback here. Is there something you’d like to see done with Symbian-Guru that hasn’t been done yet? Did I promise you something and haven’t delivered yet? Lay it on me, what improvements would you like to see here on Symbian-Guru?

  1. when using Opera Mini to open symbian-guru.com , it goes to the mobile version, when i click to exit the mobile version to view the standart browser version, it doesn’t do that. instead it opens a random post on the mobile version site

  2. i forgot to add…

i use the N95-1, and when using the default web browser, when i click to exit the mobile version , it works. but using opera mini , it doesn’t work

  3. To me, your site looks too clumsyly laidout and happazard.
I would rather have the text and the post in the middle and the two columns each at one side of the page.

    Please work on the UI.
