Multiple Window Browsing on S60 - ROCK ON

This is just about the handiest trick I’ve seen yet for browsing the mobile web on my handset. I use Firefox on my desktop and typically have 2 windows open (one for each monitor) with 5-10 tabs each, so you can tell I’m really big on multitasking while browsing. Vaibhav over at The Symbian Blog has a killer post on how to easily open multiple windows on your S60 device, provided you have enough RAM to hold up.

There’s 2 options for you to use, though I’m using the 2nd one as it’s quite a bit easier. Basically, a friend of his sent him an .html file that creates a really simple website. You get a URL entry box, a new window link, and a Google search box. Just set this .html file as a bookmark or your homepage and off you go. You can get the full instructions here as to where to put the file and whatnot.

I’ll be using this feature alot in the future. Now I can check my email with SoonR, catch up on RSS with Google Reader, find new stuff with Mippin, and search for music and media with Taptu, all at the same time. Ain’t life grand?
