3 Phones And A Pen

DSC02597

This is a guest post from my fiance, Christina. When we met, she was using a Sanyo 8100 on Sprint’s network. She has since had the N73, N75, and now carries the N81 8GB. It’s a rough life, for sure. I told her she only gets new phones if she promises to do a writeup on them, so here you go:

Nokia’s N73 was by far the best phone I have ever used. I don’t really use a lot of phones because all I really use them for is to call people. I don’t have internet on any of my phones nor do I intend to. I am the typical cell phone girl who uses her phone for calling, games and a calculator. Oh, and don’t forget the MP3 player. So why did I like the N73 so much? Well, it was my first phone that could actually hold the battery life. Unfortunately, the N73 broke (the power button stopped working). Having a broken N73 sucks, and the funny part is that not one single person has been able to fix the phone for me. Now some of you might be saying ‘wait a minute aren’t you dating the Symbian-Guru?’ Well, that doesn’t always give you privileges. I also don’t want to get that involved because I want to be treated like a customer. So my N73 has been broken for over 6 months now and no one can seem to fix it. It is funny that a company can make a phone but when something goes wrong with they are clueless! Hello Nokia do you realize I am a normal consumer and a nurse. I tell others what I think about phones and we all share ideas on what phones are good. The one phone I talked up to everyone is somewhere half way around the world trying to be fixed, yet do you really think I am going to continue talking up your phones if you can’t fix them? Ok, so now I am on my third phone, the N81 8GB, which is supposed to be temporary while my N73 gets fixed. However, it looks as if the N73 will never be fixed.

Before I got the N81 8GB, though, I was given the Nokia N75. The N75 couldn’t hold battery life worth crap. The N75 also would turn itself on and off, which really sucked when I was talking to someone. How annoying! So what do I think about my N81. It is not the N73 but it will do. I like the sleek brown color and how it slides up. I like the fact that I can navigate around without having to slide up the cover. The calculator is so-so but then again Ricky did have a special calculator on my N73 which I miss dearly. I tend to get attached to things easily. The battery life lasts for days on the N81 which is always a plus, specially since I forget to charge it till the last minute. I love the fact that I have dropped it several times (of course I am a girl) and it has not once broken. Awesome! So far I really don’t have any complaints except that I want my N73 back.

Now onto the best thing Nokia has ever invented for someone like me. A pen! A lot of you might be thinking ‘why is she going from phones to a pen?’ but let me tell you, I go through pens like candy. Cheap pens, expensive pens and those pens that are inbetween. So why would I talk about a pen? Because thus far Nokia has created two things I love and would recommend to anyone: The N73 and the pen. This sleek blue pen, which writes in blue ink, is amazing. I am able to have smooth writing no matter where I am when using this pen. I know most people are probably saying ‘what a dork, this woman is writing about a stupid pen,’ but let me stop you now. I am a nurse and I go through a lot of pens. I have yet found one that I truly love and would use everyday. That was until I stole this pen from the Symbian-Guru. So, hats off to Nokia for making a product I have not griped out, thrown across the room or even said what the heck. In fact, I wish I knew where to get more of these pens because mine is running out of ink and I am going to miss it.

  1. Christina, have Ricky check out Calcium, it is a very useful and easy to use basic calculator. Here’s a link http://www.mtvoid.com/calcium.

    Great review,
    Jeb

  2. I have that pen too! I love it, but I don’t like the blue ink. I got it from Nokia promotional website a while back now. I have a really sleek metal Nokia pen that writes in black, but Nokia doesn’t sell them from that online store anymore. :(

  3. Lol @ the pen, Christina. The N73 is a great phone, my friend has it and she is very pleased with everything the device has. Coming from a call/sms Siemens device, it seemed like a hell of a change for her.

  4. “I tend to get attached to things easily” Hehe… Like Ricky? (^_-)

Nice write up Christina. I had a similar issue with an N93 that needed repairing in 2006. I sent it back, they had it for 6 weeks before they returned it to me complete untouched and still broken!! Nutters!

I wonder if WOM World can get us all trial Nokia pens?

  5. Wow. This post is too great! The funniest thing about it is that Mel has been through a few Nokia phones, an N800, two nokia BT headsets and some other goodies… And out of all that, what is the only item that she loves and still raves about all the time? The S60 pen that she stole from me in London. :)

  6. To Ricky:wow seems like you are one lucky guy to have a girl like her.She speaks so naturally and tells whats in her straight forward. You want her to speak about phones but she comes out with what she really loves about phones. This happens to me all the time.We are mad at specs they are wondering why?We check whether they are loaded,THEY check if they are cute enough.

  7. Here’s where you can order them for $0.75 a piece. :)

  8. From now on Christina, i want you to review everything.

  9. Ricky, I think you should let Christina do the reviews from now on :o)

I don’t have that pen, I have many other Nokia pens, but not that one. They are, however, usually just branded pens from someone else, so it should be easy to find new ink if you look at the one that’s in it now.
