Nokia Does Cloverfield Nicely
Nokia has partnered with movie studios several times, usually to put together a special edition handset, such as the Spiderman Edition N95 8GB. They have also secured in-movie product placement, such as the 770 Internet Tablet in Fantastic Four, and other Nokias in recent movies. The latest such partnership is with Cloverfield, a movie that is (supposedly) shot entirely with a cameraphone. There are several other Nokias in the movie, which were spotted in the trailers previously.
However, I recently visited the mobile Nokia USA site, which, by the way, is fantastic in design, layout, and content. I noticed a new Cloverfield button, so I decided to check it out. What a wealth of content! I’ve stitched a few screenshots together so you can see the whole front page here. You can view the trailer, which opens nicely in Realplayer on my N95-3 and plays beautifully. There are also several wallpapers, as well as a custom Cloverfield theme! It’s all free, you just need to surf your handset over there to get to it.
I have to say, Bravo, Nokia, Bravo. The site is incredibly well-designed, displays beautifully on my Nseries, and offers me plenty of downloads and interesting links. Keep up with the themes, they’re an awesome way to easily show off the flexibility of S60.
*EDIT* After some searching around, I discovered, sadly, that I am not the discoverer of this content. There are numerous threads across the net, including a post by SymbianAddict a few days ago, with a QR Barcode from I Am Not Dr. Tran’s VOX to directly download the theme. Still pretty cool, though.

I wasn’t all that impressed by the product placement in Cloverfield, as a matter of fact i was quite disturbed by it.
It didn’t mess the movie up, though…
