Nokia Location Tagger Beta Hints At The Future

locationtaggerThe folks at Nokia Beta Labs have been busy, and decided to share two things with us today. The first is a guest post by blogger Antony Pranata, who is also one of the minds working on the cool apps coming from Nokia Beta Labs. Antony is also known for Screenshot, as well as the handy blog S60tips.com. Antony lets us know that Geotagging images is planned to be an integral part of S60 handsets in the future, but they wanted to develop the Nokia Location Tagger to give us a sneak preview of how it will work and what exactly it does.

The Nokia Location Tagger Beta is a small application that is compatible with the N95, N95 8GB, N82, and E90. It will likely work with other S60v3 handsets in conjunction with an external GPS unit, but they’ve not tested that. All you need to do is install the application, and then have it running in the background. Use the built-in camera application to snap your pictures. There will be a small icon in the bottom corner of your screen showing you the current status as red, amber, or green. Green means that the Nokia Location Tagger is currently tagging, while amber means that it is still searching for coordinates. Red means it is experiencing an error of some sort.

You can download Nokia Location Tagger Beta here.

You can also use Share Online v3.0, which has recently been updated as well, to upload your photos to Flickr or other photo-sharing sites. I personally prefer ShoZu, because it has the option to upload my pics without asking me, automatically.
