Nokia N82 Cam Shootouts Galore
The Nokia N82 crashed the scene late last year as the top camera phone on the market, with a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, Carl Zeiss optics, and that lovely Xenon flash. However, it isn’t without competition, and there’s been PLENTY of comparison of the video quality against other cameras, both dedicated digital cams and other camera phones. In case you’re one of the many who are interested in just how well this slim little phone holds up against others, I’ve prepared a collection of links for you to check out.
The first is the imaging master himself, Mr. James Burland of Nokiacreative. James has a real eye for photography, and isn’t afraid to put any phone through its paces. I could link you to specific articles, but to be honest, James has so much really killer coverage, you’re better served to check here for his archives, to see which recent posts really trip your trigger. He’s spent 10 days with the N82 recently, as well as a trip to Venice. He’s also got a fun Flickr group featuring pictures taken by the Nokia N82.
Also, over at MobileBurn.com, my boss has recently posted a head-to-head between the LG Viewty and the Nokia N82. I didn’t know, but the LG Viewty is capable of recording video at a mind-boggling 120 frames per second. Contrast that with the 30 fps variable that the N95 and N82 are capable of, and you get an idea of what that really means. Click on over to see the difference between the Viewty and the N82.

Thanks for the mention Ricky… very kind.
That LG thing? It’s rather horrible! I had quite high hopes for it, but I had a go on one the other day, it’s really quite bad.
Nice.
Note that the 120fps was for QVGA video where the N95 30fps is for VGA. I don’t know if this calculation is valid but 1/4 resolution = 4x frame rate.
Mike, you could be right.
