Theme-O-Mania
I love themes, everyone around me knows that. I change themes on a daily basis, sometimes even during the day. I have been in search for good directories to find the best theme makers around, and it took me a whole year to find what I was looking for, a forum Nokioteca where all Italian theme makers flourish, a gold mine should I add, where you’ll find P@sco, Babi, Pizero, Jendell, Ivanov, Giambi, Gnokkia, Luca, to name a few. But finding themes is not supposed to be this hard. That’s where Symbian Certified Themes kicks in. Created by Pietro (also known to many as P@sco) this site is meant to help theme makers with the process of creation and signing, but it’s also a site where we, common mortals, can find links to all certified themers. How cool is that?
In another aspect, if you don’t like over-detailed and dense themes, you can also take a look at what Stefan unearthed: 8 music-oriented themes, provided for the Samsung i450 but that work great on the N82 (so we believe they will work on all S60 3rd Edition devices).
I like the idea of certified themes, but I don’t like how P@sco rates them. The more jam-packed and messy the theme is with custom icons and the smaller the file size earns the better score.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’ve never liked custom icons since the early days of 2nd Edition and I appreciate it every time a theme designer builds a theme with an option to download a default icons version.
Definitely some excellent themes to be found in those pages. You just have to take the time to look.
The Beat bubbles is one of the best looking themes I have ever used. Atleast 3 people ‘wow’ed at my N95 8GB since morning. The black bgnd perfectly matches the N95 8GB.
