Announcing Geek Vs. Guru - The Workout

Geek vs. GuruToday I’m really excited to announce a new feature here on Symbian-Guru, in partnership with Nokiageek.com, we’re launching Geek vs. Guru - The Workout. The contest is simple: for the next two months (I’m getting married in 2 months, catch the idea…) Matt Jones, the Nokia Geek, and yours truly will be competing against one another using Nokia Sports Tracker and Flixwagon to record the exploits.

We’ll be jogging/running 2 days per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each day, our workout will be posted to our Sports Tracker Online pages, and to our respective blogs, with a Flixwagon video embedded, showing our condition following the workout, as well as our resulting weight. This way you can follow along and see how far we are going each day, how fast (or rather, how slow) we’re moving, and all that fun stuff. One point is awarded for every kilometer covered, and we also get one point per kilgram we lose. 5 points are deducted for missing a workout or not doing a video.

The winner? Well, the winner gets the satisfaction of knowing he is in great shape, as well as bragging rights. To keep track, you can make sure you’re subscribed to both NokiaGeek’s and Symbian-Guru’s RSS feed to get the latest updates on Mondays and Wednesdays. You can click on the Geek vs Guru button on the sidebar to get to the contest homepage, as well, with updates and links to the most recent coverage.
