Charge Your Nokia Via USB For $6
DealExtreme has a killer deal on the Nokia CA-100. This is a simple cable that allows you to charge your Nokia device (using the new small-barrel power port) via USB. This cord will work for any Nokia device, including the N800 or N810 Internet Tablets, any of the newer handsets, and all of the Nokia Bluetooth Headsets and Speakers which have a power port.
One thing that I love is that, for the most part, Nokia uses the same accessories for EVERYTHING. I know most wish that Nokia would allow charging through the miniUSB or microUSB ports, and I think that will come, but for the meantime, unlike other handset manufacturers, you can use a Nokia charger for nearly anything the company puts out.
In any case, the deal is $5.44 with free shipping, and you can even pay via PayPal (which is how I shop online, it’s just easier than having to pull out my credit card and type in all those numbers). Here’s the link, enjoy while it lasts.
**EDIT** - Upon closer inspection, it’s true that it could possibly be a fake. I went ahead and bought one last night, for $6, I’m willing to be the guinea pig and will certainly report back as soon as I get it in. For those skeptical, you may want to hold out.

Are you sure this is an original Nokia CA-100 cable?
The original CA-100 is a very short length cable and costs 40+$.
I am not aware of a long cable version…
Be warned, most USB to Nokia power port adapters will only actually charge the battery if it’s not totally drained or very low. It’ll start to charge then a few seconds later simply stop
I don’t know why this is, but I suspect it’s because the 5v from USB ports isn’t quite enough to give the battery the boost it needs when it’s below a certain point. Maybe the CA-100 is different and Nokia have put in something clever.
Still, I prefer the extendible cables that Proporta sell.
Thanks for the response ! Seems logical !
You post mentions this as the Nokia CA-100. It clearly isn’t the case.
This is a clone product. Its cheap but still dont advertise it as a Nokia product.
Works fine with my N95-2! A must have for N95-users using online services or gps!
For a few $ you can charge your phone at work and save enery at home! ^^
Greetings from Germany.
Bought it here in europe for 25€ (around 35$): works like a charm but it’s slower than the wall charger.
And yes, the one in the pic is a fake one: the original one has a very short cable
that’s a good news
What struck me is that the description says “CA-100 Compatible USB Charging Cable for Nokia Phones”. Compatible? Does that mean it is compatible with the CA-100 but isn’t the CA-100? Their wording is a little misleading.
Compatible, in the language of mobile accessory salesmen, means “theoretically should be within spec”. Just look at all the idiots selling crappy 500 mAh batteries as BL-5BT compatible.
That said, I have a little gizmo similar to this, and it works OK. In combo with the USB cigarette lighter adapters for your car, it removes the need for separate car and home chargers.
However, it’s a little loose, so I have to brace the phone just right in order for it to completely charge. I don’t know if this is a problem of my phone or the charger, though.
I too am ecstatic with my CA-100, which I got for about $20 from Amazon. I have an N95-3 and even with a very low battery level (1 bar), the USB port in my IBM ThinkPad charges the phone completely. Sure, it takes a bit longer to do so, but it works like a charm. Highly recommended!
Any news on the delivery?
I received the two I ordered last week, and used it with my Nokia E61i for the first time last night. I suspect that it fried my battery, as it’s now almost completely drained and won’t take a charge from the wall adapter that came with it!
Needless to say, buyer beware. I’m pretty pissed at this…
