N-Gage Coverage Around The ‘Net
There’s been so much great coverage of N-Gage in the blogs lately that rather than spill my own thoughts, it would be more useful to you, the reader, to group all these great links together in a single post. You already know that I’m a huge fan of N-Gage, not in its current iteration, but with a few application fixes, it has some tremendous potential.
Ewan Spence over at AllAboutSymbian has his thoughts on Anssi Vanjoki’s keynote speech at the GDC (Game Developers Conference) in San Francisco recently, pointing to a very connected gaming experience.
The Official Nokia blog has two videos (appropriately hosted on Share on Ovi) here and here of interviews with Jaakko Kaidesoja, Gregg Sauter, and Dr. Mark Ollila, all of whom make up Nokia’s Games Management Team.
AllAboutNgage.com has a great piece from Tzer2 about the 10 things that would make N-Gage *really* cool. I want to echo #5 – Bluetooth Controller, as that’s something I’ve asked for before.
PocketGamer.co.uk took time out to sit down with Jaako Kaidesoja and get some straightforward answers. My favorite is this quote, “I think I made a mistake in the second half of 2007 announcing launch dates and then we missed them as we discovered some surprisingly difficult things. The commercial launch will be in the coming weeks. It’s not far away.” I’ve said it before, but I love that individuals at Nokia have no problem admitting when they’ve messed up.
Last, but most certainly not least, P@sco has taken the time to put together a fantastic N-Gage theme for S60v3 handsets, using the same color scheme, some neat graphics, and even included game-specific wallpapers, with a promise to deliver more of these in the future. Killer work, as always. Download it here
