N95 8GB – Traveler’s Buddy
Traveling light? Get an N95 8GB. Well this is the bet that Aaron and Georgie have made. Just forget about laptops, wires, cables, weights, and only take an N95 8GB with an SU-8W keyboard to document their trip through South Africa. The trip is due in end March, but they have already started preparing every bit of it. Between using Lifeblog to post photos, videos, sounds and texts to their Typepad blog, using FlogBlog an application on Facebook to mirror all new RSS items from the blog to their Facebook wall, and Shozu to geotag and upload images to Flickr, everything seems pretty much set up.
I think this is a great plan & idea. Still, I would consider Share Online 3.0 with Share on Ovi capability: one place for all the media. I have also been thinking about this for a while myself. I am applying for a Masters in a French university next year, and if it works, I should be gone for a year at least. I’d like to keep in touch with my friends and family. Friends, I am not worried about, but parents will be difficult to manage as they still don’t know how to turn a computer on. I’d like to give them one link and tell them “this is where you will find everything about me” and one software and say “this is how you can talk to me”. So I am particularly interested in seeing how Aarun and Georgie will manage their trip with the N95 8GB. On paper, the black Ninja (to quote James) is capable of doing all of those, but the question is: how practical will it be and what are the limitations they will face? You can visit their N95 Travel Blog to see how their plans fit into place and maybe even give them some handful tips.
