Nokia 6120 Firmware Updated To v4.21

Nokia 6120 Firmware Updated To v4.21

Friedbrains over at HowardForums.com has just posted that there is a new firmware update for the Nokia 6120 multimedia handset. The new firmware brings it to v4.21 and according to his report, also features UDP, or User Data Preservation. This means when you update your firmware, it will no longer erase all of your personal settings and data.

Currently, there’s no changelog available, and no word if it’s only available on specific product codes, but you can give it a run on your own 6120 by downloading Nokia’s Software Update application here, connecting your phone to your PC via the USB cable, and crossing your fingers.

  11. Hi Guys,

I just got my 6120. I have the v 3.70. I do not have any errors up to now, just two days. I hope not to update, after seing all these comments. What are the benifits/Changes that i could gain from upgrading anyway. I would prefer a good battery life. out of this phone.

Other than that i do not see any thing that needs to be updated!

    Thanks

  12. @not happy

I’ve got same problem, after I upgrade to 4.21 in my Nokia 6120 (3 italy carrier branded). Now data packet connection is always on, if I shut down after 5 minute automatically restart) and now I’m not able to use Nokia 6120 as bluetooth modem (from n810) while with firmware 3.50 no problem.

    Is possible to downgrade?!

    I hate branded phone.

  13. I’ve found a work around for the connection always open:
In my 6120 3 branded there is a data connection called “3″ which I renamed “three” and now is active only when I need.

If you want to rename you must close the data connection always open and quikly go to menu, settings, connetions, and then rename

  14. Hi - after a software update on my mac I suddenly seem to have no access via bluetooth to my Nokia 6120c - I’ve reset the connection to no avail. Any idea what i’m doing wrong?
I also had used the hack to get the ical syncing working , but that has gone quiet as well!

    Not happy - Lachlan.

  15. My own Nokia 6120 was v3.73

I updated it to latest v4.21

I advise you all out there to be on updates.

v4.21 = fixed many bugs, phone runs faster etc.

  16. For constant inteernet connection please change the to “when needed” from a”when available” in access point.
