The 6220 Classic that Nokia announced this morning completely baffles me. It has mostly the same features as the high-end Nokia N82, with a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, Carl Zeiss optics, and Xenon flash. It’s sporting S60v3, HSDPA, TV-out, and GPS. But it’s not an Nseries. It will, however, be available in both manly black and womanly purple.
I’m really curious to have a chat with the Product Manager of the 6220 Classic to find out some more background on this particular handset.

The 6220 Classic is an odd fish, really. I’m amazed to see the 5 megapixel camera and Xenon flash already expanded to non Nseries product lines, and worried about those teeny-tiny S60 buttons. I’ll be interested to see how this one takes off when launched. Also that paltry 900mAh battery isn’t going to live very long with a 5 megapixel camera sucking juice and GPS running to tag all those photos.
Dotsisx’s Take
This device is clearly a camera and a phone, it isn’t meant to be a good music player, nor a good gaming device. Yet it does so much better, spec-wise than any non Nseries device and remains affordable. Expect rocket sales, just like the 6120.
