Nokia Turns Twango Into Share For Ovi
Nokia bought media-sharing site Twango a while back, and didn’t really do much with it. Of course all us bloggers and fanboys joined just to see what the fuss was all about, and promptly forgot about it. However, today Nokia and Twango announced that the service has been updated and rebranded to Share for Ovi. Aside from the horribly boring name, there’s been quite a few changes made, for the better.
To get a list of the changes, head on over to the Twango/Share for Ovi blog, and get setup with a free account for yourself. Currently, there isn’t much in terms of mobile upload options, but there will be a download link soon to integrate Share for Ovi with Nokia’s Share Online feature, so stay tuned to Symbian-Guru for that.
This is the first real glimpse that we have of Ovi, and I think it’s interesting. Stefan’s got a novel comparing Flickr to Share for Ovi, and I’ll be looking at the same comparison soon. As Stefan points out, Share for Ovi won’t be a real Flickr competitor until they offer an unlimited upload option, even if it costs.
For those interested in slowly moving over to Share for Ovi, there’s an easy way to upload your pictures to Flickr and Share for Ovi at the same time using ShoZu. Once you have your Share for Ovi account, go to Upload, and get your mobile upload email. You can then add a CC Destination to your ShoZu account using this email, and wa-la! One-click or even No-Click upload to Flickr and Share for Ovi simultaneously.
Don’t forget Share on Ovi has an email upload option. Each channel on twango/Share on Ovi has its own email address you and your friends can upload to from mobile devices.

just an update - sure you know, that Share on Ovi has unlimited upload (but max 100mb per piece) on the account!
