Opera Gets Updates

Opera Mobile and Opera Mini are always on the must-have lists of applications, be it the Windows Mobile platform or the Symbian Platform. Opera Mini, the free java based client, received a great server upgrade, which should boost the overall performance of the most coveted browser. According to comments posted on the Opera forum, this upgrade has fixed several bugs, of which some issues with the desktop versions of My Yahoo and Yahoo Mail.

But the good bit is about the unveiling of Opera Mobile 9.5, a MAJOR update to Opera Mobile. The software, which should be demo’ed during the Mobile World Congress, smells nothing but improvements. Other than the faster browsing and the widget implementation, it should bring Flash support with Flash Lite 3, well, by relying on operator kindness nevertheless. The interesting parts though are the very practical implementations that should solve long standing problems.

These handy improvements are: tabbed browsing, web page saving, calling a phone number from a web page, sending a link or an image as an SMS/MMS, web-address auto-completion, a password manager, and well many many more. You can read the full press release for more details and some screenshots, or watch the video embedded after the break.
